Lots to tell!

Well, I wasn't too good at remembering the camera this week, so I'll have to refer you out for some pictures this time. It was a week chock full o' fun! Tuesday Cole had a miniature golf field trip at school. Wednesday we went with Cole's friend Adam and his sister Emilie on a Pirate Cruise. See below for some great shots of "Crab-Legs Cole" and friends.

Thursday we had a nice visit with Grandmom, Grandpa, Uncle Rory, Aunt Rebekah, cousin Kirk and Great Uncle Roy and Great Aunt Jean -- sorry mom forgot the camera. Lame - o! We spent some more time with Rory, Rebekah and Kirk on Friday and Saturday -- continuing to forget the camera EVERY time! So, you can see some pics by visiting Kirk's blog -- click here!

Sunday evening we had dinner with our friends Stuart, Marcy and Lily. Lily's got her own blog too -- pictures from our visit may appear on Tuesday...(no pressure, Stuart) Click here.

No post next week -- I know, I know -- the withdrawal will be difficult. Go get a big Starbucks or something to hold you over until September 4th. We'll be on vacation all next week.

As they say...See you in September. (Or, alternatively...Try to remember a time in September then follow...follow follow follow...Martzluf grandchildren inside joke...) Later gators!

Adam, Cole and Emilie are learning to be real pirates...ARGGGHHHH!

Cole and Adam are on cannon #2 trying to gun down Pirate Pete. Thank goodness the girl on their right had better aim than them...

Crab-legs Cole displays his treasure!

A shot of the entire crew. What a day!

This week's costume -- Sportacus from Lazytown. This is a bizzare European show that emphasizes exercise and healthy eating...not sure the healthy eating message is having much effect, though.

Move over, Chopin, there's a new kid in town!

The next Martha Stewart.

Lily is fascinated with this half Spiderman, half Darth Vader creature! See you next week! Posted by Picasa

No. Really. How many more weeks of summer?

Good grief it's hot! Not much is going on around here except the relentless heat! We are ready for fall! Okay...enough exclamation points.

We finished the Batman costume with cape (courtesy of grandmom) and yellow utility belt. Unfortunately the cape is now more yellow (with Sammy hair) than black.

Friday Cole's class went to the county fair. Nothin' like the smell of pigs and cows when the heat index is 105. Yum. The highlight of Cole's week was finally reaching his savings goal of $30 to afford his Darth Vader voice changer mask. (This is the real one folks, no paper or tape...yet.)

Saturday we went to John's company picnic where Cole got a Batman face painting -- which promptly oozed right of his face in the heat... Thankfully Hayley stayed at Grandmom and Grandpa's - but she missed the family portrait. Maybe next year.

Hayley is doing great - the new record (as of Sunday) is 20 consecutive steps. She's really off to the races and seems to enjoy less wear and tear on the old knees.

Hope you all stay cool this week. Enjoy!

Batman...Forever!

Yum. Blackberries! Can I give you a BIG kiss?

Catch this picture while you can -- I'm not going to keep up this crawling stuff for much longer!

Trying to stay cool (without success) at John's company picnic.

Spying on the neighbors...or standing in her spot of choice (over an airvent) when it's 97 degrees? You decide...

Clap, clap, clap...

Cole's hard earned dollars are well spent - don't you agree?

Learning the foxtrot? She's ready for Soul Train, I'd say! Posted by Picasa

Another Fun Week!

Our week started with a great day at Dutch Wonderland in PA. Cole had lots of fun on the rides and participated in an interactive theater show entitled the "Free Folk of Middle Earth". He played a goblin (bad guy). Wish I'd had the camera. Hayley also got to have some fun and rode the log flume and giant slides. Everyone cooled off in the water park at the end of the day -- it was a good time.

Hayley's got teeth #7 and 8 now. We think the cuspids are next -- ouch. She's up to 4-5 steps at a time, but still preferring to crawl. We visited her new class and teacher on Friday morning. I don't think Miss Jennifer knows what she's in for with Hayley -- but ignorance is bliss, right?

Mom and Dad got some free time on Saturday thanks to Grandmom and Grandpa and took an indoor rock climbing class. It was alot of fun! Sunday we wrapped up the week with blackberry and blueberry picking and dinner with friends Ginnie, Dan, Adam, Emilie and Andrew. Stay cool this week!

Cole shares a fireman's hat with Hayley.

Still having fun with the fireman's hat.

WELL...the transition to one nap a day isn't really going that well. This is Hayley "playing" around 11:30 on Friday morning.

Didn't want you to miss the action -- so I got a close up of the "playing".

Reaping the rewards of blackberry picking. YUM.

Costume of the week...batman... You can't see it, but there's a paper cape behind. We're on a mission to the fabric store tomorrow to create a fabric cape. We'll keep you posted on the progress.
