The big day is here!

Cole was totally excited to start school today. THE big day! He ran all the way to the bus stop and was off to the races before we knew it! He's excited to ride the bus and play at recess with Adam. And, he already knows a couple of kids in his class. We've had a fun week gearing up for today -- with bowling, a trip to the tire park, mini-golfing and more. Cole also started soccer with Matthew last week -- so we're in full fall swing here. (Now if it would just stop being 90 degrees out, we'd be really set!) Enjoy your week!

Vacation fun...

We had a great vacation last week. But, as always, we're happy to be home! On our trip we got in two great hikes, biking, swimming, ice skating, visits with Gram, Grandad, Aunt Suzanne, Uncle Peter and Claire. It was a fun-filled trip. Cole is now relaxing and enjoying his last week of freedom -- as he says -- "for the rest of his life." (I told him no, just for the next 60 years...nice mother, huh?) See you next week!

Three men and a little lady...

Well, we can see the light of fall at the end of this summer tunnel... At last!!! Cole had a good week in another nature camp. They made tie-dye t-shirts, took a "swamp" hike (yes those shoes have gone to the dump...), learned about lizards and more... This week is Cole's last camp and I think he's pretty happy to be done. We had a visit from Adam overnight on Saturday and his brother Andrew spent Sunday with us too. See the pics of the fun.

Hayley is doing well too. She now has an opinion about everything from choosing her outfits, food, etc. Her latest trick is to tell you what she's NOT going to do. Like.... Hayley NOT go to bed... It would be funnier if it wasn't so frustrating...

Even though it's still a few weeks away, she's already talking about her birthday party and making requests for the event. She's spending lots of time thinking about the guest list and wants a Blues Clues cake. (Since, as she will tell you, blue and yellow are her favorite colors...so it will be a yellow cake with Blue on the top). Lord help her father when it comes time for a wedding...
