Got an ark?

It's raining again!!! A.L.O.T.! But never fear, we're managing to squeeze in fun between the lightning bolts and deluges.... On Saturday we had fun at our town fair... (it's a very little fair that sells very big cotton candy -- my kind of event!) We also had fun at the ball game with Marcy, Stuart and Lily Saturday evening. Hayley ended up not feeling well again, but we made it to the 7th inning and had a good time while we could! See you next week!

Cole's jetpack and mask costume for the day.

Riding the swings at the fair.

More swings...

Enjoying the ball game.

The one second that they were actually both watching the game!

Cheese! See you next week.

Grease is the word...

Not too many pics this week, so I thought I'd share a typical Hayley type of day....

Saturday mom was cleaning out the office while Cole and Hayley were supposed to be in watching TV. All of a sudden, too much time had passed with no fighting, crying, running, hitting, etc. You get the idea -- the "uh oh" alarm went off. I ran all over the house to find Hayley and as I got upstairs, she came out covered in vaseline. Yes, chin to crown in a thick layer of the stuff. Why do I even have this product??? A question asked too late.... Not sure if Hayley thought it was moisturizer or hair gel. Perhaps both...

I wish I could say I had a picture of it. Needless to say I could not leave her in this condition unattended to run get the camera. You'll just have to use your imaginations. BUT...the next question is...how do you get vaseline out of hair.... ?????

Hayley had her hair washed 7 times on Saturday. Three times with her shampoo, once with Cole's shampoo, twice with handsoap, and once with dish detergent (the collective recommendation of 5 moms at lunch). Guess Dawn doesn't REALLY take grease out of your way.

Well, it's Monday and the hair is finally improving. (It was still pretty gross on Sunday, but a visit to the neighborhood pool helped. Now the folks in my town have really soft skin too...)

That's all for now. Hope you have a good -- and petroleum jelly-free week!

Heading out for our first trip to the pool this summer.

Hayley reads her favorite book.

Late...

Sorry these posts are getting later and later! It was sort of a crazy weekend here. On Saturday Cole had his last baseball game of the season. He got a hit when the coach was pitching in the 3rd inning, so we were quite proud. Another season in the books!

Hayley has had a rough time this week and ended up with another ear infection. It's so nice now that she's old enough to tell us "boo boo ear" so we know what's wrong. In spite of the pain, she managed to impress the doctor by following all his instructions during the exam and counting to 14 (skipping 12 of course -- we clearly have a bias against 12...) so loud that mommy couldn't hear the doctor's instructions for dosing the medicine. She seems better today after a day of antibiotics and was looking forward to playing at school with her friends.

Not too much else to report. We're practicing singing Happy Birthday so we can be all ready to serenade Grandpa on Friday! Watch out VonTrapps...we're hot on your trail!

First inning -- Cole's getting set.

Hayley and Dylan playing puzzles during the game.

Cole gets a piece of this one for a single. Good hit Cole!

Snotty Sue.

Cole clowing around (helmet is on backwards...) while running to 3rd base.

Cole gets his trophy from Coach Will.

Nobody knows who he is! See you next week! Posted by Picasa

Had to get away!

Just back from a quick summer trip. A few pictures. Also, a big shout out to Uncle Ro Ro celebrating the big 32 today. Enjoy the pics!

Look at that ridiculous hat...who on Earth would wear a Mets hat? (oh yeah, or that cute straw number with the pink flowers...)

We're trying to teach potty training...nothing like an interactive water fountain for inspiration...

Action shot...

"Mom, are you really going to trust him to catch me?"

Daddy's girl...

Further testament to her mother being off balance... Nothing like centering a picture.

Cute... or scheming...?

Hairplen!!! Hairplen!!! Hairplen!!!

Happy swimming with Dad...

Using his noodle...

Happy to be home and creating again. Inspired by the new movie Cars (as I'm told it will "be coming to theaters June 9th"...amazing how he gets that, but can't pick up on my nagging....) See you next week! Posted by Picasa
